...finally....

Wow I am finally writing another blog! I have finally made it to the wonderful state of Kentucky. States I drove through: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. It was great to see all the different states, but it wasn't so great sitting in a U-haul for 4 days going at a steady speed of 55 the whole way. Whatever, I'm here! Things that are new: My new job at Merle Norman, my tv, I got saved, and....well that's about it. So far it has only snowed once, been foggy once, and rained alot. I can't wait till spring and summer, but I'm sure I will be regretting that when the humidity comes full force. Oh well. I will just continue to take it in day by day.

...Dead Man's Bones...

My recent inspiration and obsession has stemmed from the very talented Ryan Gosling. "The Notebook" seems to be the movie most people (women) loved him in, but I would have to say that my favorite movie of his would definitely be 'Lars, and The Real Girl.'

"Synopsis: As the title character, Ryan Gosling is a strange but like able young man who manages to keep down a job but keeps mostly to himself. He only leaves the garage where he lives when his older brother Gus and loving sister-in-law Karin drag him to their house next door for dinner. Lars doesn't take well to questioning, so the disturbing level of his isolation is never openly discussed. It's only when he announces he has a girlfriend in the form of an anatomically correct doll he purchased via the Internet that everyone must admit his precarious mental state. No one quite knows how to help Lars, so they play along, careful not to do anything that might push him or Bianca (his plastic fiancee) over the edge. The results are touching efforts on the part of all those who love him to help Lars through what his psychologist assures them may be only a stage. Kelli Garner shines as Margo, the real, live girl who Lars seems incapable of seeing. Despite being ignored, Margo hangs in there, hopeful Lars will come around to sanity and to her. Craig Gillespie's LARS AND THE REAL GIRL is a sweet love story and a film which deals with mental illness in surprisingly subtle ways. With a formula that could easily have manipulated for cheap laughs, the film achieves quirky humor in parts but mostly touching observations about the nature of delusions themselves. The film's talented cast gathers around Lars, a sensitive character who the film respects and who Gosling brings fully to life."

Not only is Gosling an amazing actor, he is also a terrific singer as well. I have a very deep obsession for music that has dark undertones and an eery/old sound to it. I'm always on the search to find new artist that fall into this category of unique sound, and that is when I came across Ryan Goslings' independent little band, 'Dead Man's Bones.' You have the deep vocals of Ryan, Zach Shields on the drums, and the supporting vocals of a children's choir. Sounds strange, but it blends together in perfect harmony. I learned that Ryan really got his start on the mickey mouse club, alongside Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears...weird. Anyways, I read an interview Ryan and Zach did with Pitchfork.com and I was excited to see that they are soon planning on dropping a much anticipated album. I will definitely be on the lookout for it. I will have to make a stop to Amoeba before moving to Kentucky because I highly doubt they will have the range of cd's that Amoeba in Hollywood does :( Here is the interview if you are interested. http://pitchfork.com/news/34432-meet-dead-mans-bones-ryan-gosling-and-zach-shields/

I found a video floating around on Youtube.com so check it out!

...the root of all evil...

I carry your heart with me,
I carry it in my heart.
I am never without it,
anywhere I go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done by only me,
is your doing,my darling.
I fear no fate,
for you are my fate, my sweet.
i want no world,
for beautiful you are my world, my true.
and you are whatever a moon has always meant,
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows.
here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart.

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

This is the wonder keeping the stars apart...this is my love. World, please meet my amazing boyfriend Matt, the force for which I am leaving next month to Kentucky. Never did I think I would ever fall for a man who wears Hank Williams Jr. t-shirts and Red wings boots. I guess God does work in mysterious ways. In the beginning, everything was fast and crazy, it felt as though our meeting was some epic story, and we were merely the puppets it in its grand scheme. The winds were warm about us, the whole earth seemed the wealthier for our love. Well over a year later it still feels that way. I am ready to leave this crazy place and crazy lifestyle that I have grown so accustomed to while living in Hollywood. The future that Kentucky holds for me is unclear, but I have realized as long as I have this amazing person in my life, everything will be o.k. and find its way.
